Fate or Free Will, THAT is the Question!
It always comes up. Is the forecast you get for your chart an absolute, or can you change it? Over and over I repeat that I believe you have free will, and that you can change your forecast, but it bears repeating again with an explanation of why that is true. Last year one of these newsletters had an article by Patricia Petty Munns called "The Stone" which did a good job of explaining this in allegorical form. However, I recently read Manifest Your Destiny by Wayne Dyer, which does a marvelous job of explaining the physics behind manifestation of your reality. There are many books out there that explain Quantum Mechanics, but basically, it is a fact that, reduced to the smallest sub-atomic particle, matter is not form at all but a wave of energy. It is constantly moving. The startling thing scientists have discovered is that the wave is changed by the influence of the observer's thought! It's never still; it reacts instantly. Therefore, they have only been able to observe it based on it's reaction. And, as I've told you before, these particles seem to be able to communicate with each other over great distances. Time and space do not seem to be a reality in the sub-atomic realm. Your chart at birth reflects your inborn (from past lives) habits that pre-dispose you to thinking and reacting in a particular way...passively, angrily, stubbornly, etc. As long as you continue to behave, think or believe in a particular way, you will draw the consequences, and hence your chart will be accurate in its forecast. Events are only there as teachers. As soon as you learn the lesson, then (as my teacher used to say) who's going to hassle you? You will know you have grown when forecasted events do not occur. It doesn't mean the Astrologer doesn't know his/her job; it just means you have risen above the need for that lesson. |
In Manifest Your Destiny, there are instructions for speeding along this process. Although, Wayne Dyer doesn't mention Astrology, he does mention habit patterns, and those are, of course, revealed in your horoscope. He also mentions that there are inexplicable times when things might not go perfectly. Your chart can point out those times. And, keep in mind that as soon as one lesson is learned, you can be sure another is right on its heels! So, a chart forecast is still a wise thing to have each year. It helps you not only to see what the agenda is for the year, but also how well you are handling it.
Another book that I think is very valuable is Astrology for the Soul by Jan Spiller. The Moon's Nodes are the indicators of karma. In this book she gives you 50 pages on each Nodal pair. Each person has the Nodes in a sign and in a house. By referencing both, there are 100 pages of information you can read about your lesson plan in this life time. You do have to be discriminating in reading this book because she covers all the possibilities rather thoroughly, and some may not apply to you. You'll have a gut reaction if it does.
So, Free Will? Of course you have it! Otherwise what in the world are you doing here? It would be a cosmic joke if your life were pre-determined and you could do nothing about what you are here to learn.
