COSMIC VIEWS Spring 2001

IN THIS ISSUE:

Forecast for April - June 2001

April: Early in April we feel the Mars/Pluto conjunction which can be quite willful. You'll notice people born in the mid-degrees of the mutable signs behaving this way. If determination is needed, it will surely be there.

Saturn leaves Taurus for good (for this 28 year cycle) on April 20th and enters Gemini where we will begin to see mass consciousness turn its attention to communications and education issues. Venus goes direct around the same time, on the 19th, so it is a doubly good sign that economic concerns will be alleviated somewhat for many people. From the 24th to the 30th, it isn't a good time to make major commitments, since both Mercury and the Sun will be in range of squaring Neptune. The period around the 19th to the 21st will be reminiscent of mid-August to mid-October of last year when Saturn stationed at this point. Of course, this time it will flit by quickly.

The Jupiter opposition to Pluto will be in range around mid-April which will bring our attention to power and control issues, particularly concerning large entities such as government and corporations. (See pg.1)

May: Mars slows considerably to retrograde on the 11th in the last degree of Sagittarius. Those born with placements in the last few degrees of Sagittarius (and other mutable signs - Gemini, Virgo, Pisces) or very early Capricorn may find it much harder to relax or to be patient during this time. However, it does raise the energy level, so much can be accomplished.

The first few days of May aggravates this while Mercury is in square to Uranus, another nervous, impatient indicator. By the 15th, this changes dramatically as Mercury joins Jupiter and opposes Pluto. This is powerful for rhetoric, getting ideas across, and effective communication in general. For this brief period, Mars is out of range of conjuncting Pluto, and Saturn has not yet reached the opposition, so it will most likely be a relatively peaceful time, although the 14th and 15th could bring a little excitement when the Sun squares Uranus.

June: The last few days of May Mars will be retrograding back in Sagittarius as Mercury moves forward to oppose it. Again, impatience. This is a potent time entering June because the Sun is moving to join Jupiter which is still opposing Pluto. June 3rd/ 4th should be particularly affected.

But, by mid-June, Jupiter, Sun and Mercury have moved away from the opposition, and although opposing Mars, there is a lovely trine to Uranus from all three. Even though impatience is present in most people, the creatively level is high. Saturn at this point is about to oppose Pluto, but is weak yet. It doesn't actually become exact until August 5th. However, from this point on, we should see the tensions building.

Mercury retrogrades in June from the 4th to the 28th. The most important event is the eclipse on June 21st. Anyone born that day (or within a few days) will find this to be a most important six months ahead. It will involve the house where the eclipse falls in the person's chart. This will be at 0 degrees Cancer or the first degree and marks the summer solstice. The Sabian Symbol for this is about radical changes in allegiance. A point of no return.
