COSMIC VIEWS Spring 2001

Forecasts

JULY: Besides the eclipse on July 5th, which has been treated extensively in the E-Zine, we have Jupiter and Mercury in conjunction on the 12th, which is significant because it is activating 0 degrees Cancer, the point of the powerful solar eclipse on June 21st. People born around that date (6/21) or on the beginning cusps of the other cardinal signs, Aries, Libra, and Capricorn, will most likely enjoy the results of this. Could be the start of a great opportunity for you. This also marks the entrance of Jupiter into Cancer, a year-long sojourn, during which all the cardinal signs could be blessed with opportunities, if they have done their homework.

Mars remains in retrograde motion until the 19th. Many delayed projects should see a forward momentum at that time. This summer is particular stressful for people born in the middle of the mutable signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Since Mars is staying for an extended time in Sagittarius this year, the people born in these signs are finding it particularly difficult to be patient. Mars entered Sagittarius in February and will not exit until September. The 17th is a particularly sensitive day. Best to make plans to relax that day, if you can, when Venus and the Moon are activating the stressful Pluto, Saturn, Mars combination that is holding a pattern for most of the summer. Other very sensitive days are the 10th and 23rd.

AUGUST: Venus goes over the June 21st eclipse point on August 1st, again a good thing. Perhaps those cardinal cusp people will find romance! The weekend of August 4/5 should be extraordinary. The full Moon on Saturday is accompanied by many positive aspects that are so numerous, they overwhelm the exact opposition of Saturn and Pluto on Sunday afternoon. This tells me it's a hardworking, but positively productive time. It would be a great time to wear yourself out having fun or working hard on what you've been putting off.

Mercury and Venus are both traveling quickly in their orbits, so it should be a quickly moving month with an ability for most of us to think on our feet. Watch out for accident-proneness around the 12th to 18th when many will add impatience to that fast-paced time. Regardless of the Mars/Pluto/Saturn configuration that lasts so long this summer, this month has positive support for the most part. Pluto goes direct on the 23rd.

SEPTEMBER: Mercury is slowing down, and having entered Libra on August 31st, will not change signs again until November 7th. In August, it went through a sign in just over two weeks, which gives you an idea of how quickly Mercury can appear to speed up and slow down. When these slowdowns occur, it marks the beginning of a retrograde period coming up. That begins on October 1st. Essentially, we have more than two months of Mercury in Libra, which is notorious for indecisiveness. If you think no one can make a decision in September, wait until October when the Sun is in Libra and Mercury is retrograde, too!

Mars finally leaves Sagittarius on September 8th, and when it does, it immediately opposes the eclipse point of June 21st. If that eclipse had any indication of altercations in store for us, and particularly for those people born at the beginning of the cardinal signs, this would be the manifestation of it. Mars energizes, so events associated with long-lasting indications like eclipses, usually wait until there is a trigger, such as a Sun or Mars transit. Another will be when the Sun enters the cardinal sign Libra on September 22nd.

Saturn will remain at 14 degrees of Gemini for all of September, going retrograde on the 26th. When an important planet like Saturn makes a station on a degree, it gains enormous impact. This degree will affect those born around March 5th, June 5th, Sept. 7th and Dec. 7th. There should be many decisions made by these people at this time. Many will feel it is forced on them, but actually, it's a great opportunity to resolve issues and finally get off the fence about issues that have been a dilemma for a long time. Once past, this will be viewed as a positive turning point. People who have points at 14 degrees of fire and air signs (other than Gemini and Sagittarius) will see this as a positive time for getting organized and in control of areas of their lives that need it.
